What is room key in Apple Wallet?
Now you can add your room key to Apple Wallet and access your room and common spaces such as elevators, entrances with only your iPhone and Apple Watch. It's easy, convenient, and private.
Does it cost anything?
There is no cost to add or use your room key in Apple Wallet.
How do I set up my room key in Apple Wallet?
Tap "Issue Wallet Room key" button on MGH Rewards Club app before arriving a hotel, and your room key will be added to Apple Wallet on your iPhone and Apple Watch.
After completing a check-in process, your room key is automatically activated and easily access to your room and common area.
Do I need to unlock my iPhone or launch apps to use my room key in Apple Wallet?
It is not necessary to launch any apps. Also with Express Mode, you don’t need to wake or unlock your iPhone or Apple Watch to use your room key in Apple Wallet.
Does my iPhone or Apple Watch support room key in Apple Wallet?
To add and use a room key in Apple Wallet, you need an iPhone 6s or later, or an iPhone SE (2nd generation), running the latest version of iOS.
Optionally, an Apple Watch Series 5 or later, or Apple Watch SE, with the latest version of Apple watchOS.
What happens if my iPhone needs to be charged?
Can I still use my room key in Apple Wallet if my iPhone has a dead battery?
If your iPhone needs a charge, your room key in Apple Wallet will still work.
On iPhone XS, XS Max, XR, and more recent devices, Power Reserve provides up to five hours of access after the device’s battery needs to be charged, so you can still get inside.
Can I use room key in Apple Wallet without cellular signal?
Room key in Apple Wallet can be used even if iPhone or Apple Watch does not have network connectivity.
Can I add a room key in Apple Wallet after checking in?
No, you cannnot use a room key after check-in.
Please add a room key before completing check-in.
What kind of reservations are eligible for adding a room key in Apple Wallet?
Reservation being made via MGH Rewards Club is eligible.
Multiple rooms being reserved under one reservation is not eligible.
How can I forward a room key in Apple Wallet to roommate ?
This service is available only if your roommates are members of the MGH Rewards Club.
Please use the "Send to Roommate" feature of the Express Entry service to share the registration form (registration card) via email, SMS, or other methods, and have your roommates complete their MGH Rewards Club membership verification.
After that, you can issue the Apple Wallet Room Key from the "Roommate Registration" screen in the MGH Rewards Club.
Is it possible to issue both an Apple Wallet Room Key and a card key at the same time?
Yes, it is possible, please note that there is a limitation for number of keys that can be issued.
What happens to my room key in Apple Wallet if I lose my iPhone or Apple Watch?
If your iPhone or Apple Watch is misplaced or lost, you should use Find My iPhone to suspend or deactivate your room key in Apple Wallet.

Your room key in Apple Wallet will then be reactivated once your device is recovered.
You can reactivate a found device that was suspended via iCloud.com.
How do I remove my room key from Apple Wallet?
On your iPhone, open Apple Wallet. Select your room key.
Tap the More button. Then to delete a room key, just tap Remove Key.
Once it is deleted, a room key cannnot be used any longer during the stay.
